CopyCat Texas Roadhouse Air Fryer Smothered Chicken
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil , or avocado oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
1 cup mushrooms, sautéed
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1/2 cup bacon bits
2 stalks green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)
1/2 cup Texas Roadhouse gravy or similar, or similar
Directions
Start by preheating the air fryer to 375 degrees F for 3-5 minutes.
Rub each chicken breast with oil—season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 10 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook for another 7-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Once the chicken is almost cooked, sprinkle each breast with sautéed mushrooms, shredded cheese, and bacon bits. Return to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Carefully remove the smothered chicken from the air fryer. Drizzle with Texas Roadhouse gravy, if desired. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
