CopyCat Texas Roadhouse Brown Gravy

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
2 cups Beef Broth, or Stock
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon Ketchup, or Tomato Paste
1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder , to taste
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder, to taste
1 teaspoon Salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper, to taste

Directions

In a small saucepan, melt the 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter over medium heat. Once melted, sprinkle in the 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour.

Whisk the butter and flour constantly for 2–3 minutes until the mixture (the roux) is a light golden-brown color and smells slightly nutty.

Slowly pour about 1/2 cup of the beef broth into the roux while whisking vigorously and constantly until the mixture is smooth and thick.

Gradually whisk in the remaining beef broth until the gravy base is fully combined and smooth.

Whisk in the 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce, 1 teaspoon Ketchup (or tomato paste), 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder , and 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder.

Bring the gravy to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, whisking occasionally, until it reaches your desired consistency.

Remove from heat, then taste and adjust seasoning with 1 teaspoon Salt and 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper as needed. Serve immediately while warm.
