Ingredients
4 slices artisan , or sourdough bread – thick slices toast best
1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp honey
Fresh herbs, basil, parsley, or thyme for garnish
Salt & pepper , to taste
Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, roasted peppers, fresh figs, berries, or nuts
Directions
Toast your bread slices until golden brown and crisp. A skillet or oven works better than a regular toaster for thick slices.
Spread ricotta generously over each piece of warm toast. Don’t skimp—the creaminess is the star here.
Sweet version – Drizzle honey, then add fresh berries, figs, or nuts.
Savory version – Drizzle olive oil, season with salt and pepper, then top with cherry tomatoes and herbs.
Serve immediately while warm. Pair with coffee for breakfast, a glass of wine for appetizers, or as a side with a salad.
